Building the go-to local option for gig drivers in Springfield

I'm Robert, and that line is the whole reason Drive 417 exists. I'm building it to be the first place a Springfield-area driver thinks of when they need a car for delivery or rideshare work.

A lot of people want to drive for gig work but don't have a car that fits the job, or don't want to take on a car payment just to find out if the work fits them. Renting week to week should be simple, and the person you rent from should be someone you can actually reach.

What we do

Drive 417 is a weekly car rental for drivers in the Springfield area. We're not renting yet; our first car is coming, and the waitlist is open now. You may use the car with any major delivery or rideshare app, subject to that app's own driver, vehicle and insurance rules. We cannot promise any app will accept you or the car.

What we're building

  • Built for gig work. Drive 417 is built around people who drive for delivery and rideshare work, and every policy on this page was written with that driver in mind.
  • Local and owner-run. When you rent from Drive 417, you deal directly with the owner. If something comes up with the car, you know who to call.
  • Week to week, no car payment. You rent by the week, so you can drive without taking on a car loan.
  • Rules up front. Who can rent and how renting will work are posted right here, and you get the full terms in writing before you sign.

How it will work

  • Clear, written terms before you sign. You see the full rental terms in writing before anything is final.
  • Rent is paid weekly on Fridays. We take Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App (business).
  • Every car is insured before handover. Renters must also carry their own personal auto insurance and show proof before handover.
  • We handle scheduled oil changes. You focus on driving.
  • Handover happens at a public location in the Springfield area.

Who can rent

  • Renters must be 25 or older. That is our rental policy.
  • You need a valid US driver's license held at least 1 year.
  • We review your driving record with your signed consent. A DUI, reckless driving, or a license suspension in the last 3 years means we can't approve the rental.
  • Only the named renter may drive the car.
